The Administrative Partner is responsible for the coordination and management of the administrative functions for the Integrated Vice President, Research; which includes support to Lawson’s Research Executive of scientific leaders, the Lawson Board and related committees, and coordinating the IVP’s work with external agencies and governmental partners. In this role executive level administrative support requires discernment and diplomacy to effectively and efficiently maintain an executive management office. This role also participates in operational activities, including national and international project management, and supporting the development and implementation of Lawson’s short and longterm business strategies. Other clerical and administrative support as required.

Qualifications

Graduate of an Executive/Business Office Administration Diploma program
• Minimum 5 years of recent related experience supporting senior leadership required; preferably in a research environment and/or hospital setting
• An understanding of research environments and systems across academic and hospital-based organizations preferred
• Demonstrated professionalism; ability to network, develop and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
• Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities required
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience using technology to enhance process efficiency and workflow required
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of internal and external organizations; experience dealing with leadership and senior executives required
• Ability to take and transcribe minutes at a Board of Directors, Finance Committee and Senior Executive level
• Effectively create and implement action plans, and prioritize workflow as needed
• Ability to organize internal and external research visits for collaborators across Western and both hospitals, up to and including multiple-day recruitments
• Ability to make decisions independently and exercise good judgment
• Demonstrated understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of confidentiality
• Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and diplomacy in handling sensitive information at all times
• Excellent time management skills and attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
