Lawrence Yip was awarded the Leadership Award for Fellows and Students at the 2019 Lawson Impact Awards on April 11. This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities, strong research skills, and dedication to the advancement of health research.

A new grant from CIHR (Canadian Institutes of Health Research) in collaboration with an EU consortium has provided a total of $2.1 million to establish a network of research centres focused on personalized medicine for mental disorders.

St. Joseph’s: Parkwood Institute - 

Leading the Canadian arm of the project is Dr. Lena Palaniyappan who is using Artificial Intelligence to help personalize treatment for patients with psychosis. Dr. Palaniyappan is an Associate Scientist at Lawson Health Research Institute, Associate Professor at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry and Scientist at Robarts Research Institute.
