Stacey Larizza

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Research of Lawson Health Research Institute, Stacey oversees all research operations at one of Canada’s top ten hospital-based research institutes.

Stacey is ultimately responsible for Lawson’s administrative, operational and financial efficacy. Working alongside the Scientific Director, she drives the infrastructure that supports the institute’s strategic scientific plan. This includes risk management, compliance, financial oversight and overall stewardship of the institute.

Demonstrating a complex understanding of the economy and business trends, Stacey acutely represents Lawson’s best interests within the context of the institute’s and hospitals’ corporate missions, visions, values, strategic directions, and policy frameworks. She acts as a key management resource to the Lawson Board and, alongside the Scientific Director, supports the strategy for partnerships and alliances that will best serve to further the research mission. Stacey is a key conduit to portfolios and departments within the hospitals and Western University, facilitating cooperation to support ongoing research needs.

Stacey is highly-recognized for her leadership and accountability in operations and administration. Prior to joining Lawson, she was an Associate Partner at KPMG. Stacey is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), and a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). She is also a member of the Canadian Association of Research Administrators (CARA). In 2013, Stacey was nominated for a President’s Award at London Health Sciences Centre in recognition of her leadership at the institute.
