Cancer Imaging Research Database Builder

The recruit will develop cancer imaging research databases supporting the development of artificial intelligence tools and clinical trials in oncology. The position will entail:
• Reading and interpreting patient charts, radiology reports, and pathology reports
• Retrieval of imaging and radiation treatment information from medical information systems
• Design, creation, and maintenance of databases containing imaging, treatment, and outcome information
• Interaction with patients and family members around recruitment to clinical trials

Job Description

The recruit will develop cancer imaging research databases supporting the development of artificial intelligence tools and clinical trials in oncology.  The position will entail:

  • Reading and interpreting patient charts, radiology reports, and pathology reports
  • Retrieval of imaging and radiation treatment information from medical information systems
  • Design, creation, and maintenance of databases containing imaging, treatment, and outcome information
  • Interaction with patients and family members around recruitment to clinical trials

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in medical science or related discipline from an accredited university or college
• Ability to read and understand basic medical terminology
• Ability to read and understand pathology, imaging and clinical reports
• Ability to design, create and maintain large-scale RedCAP databases
• Ability to build and maintain large-scale imaging databases
• Ability to link imaging and clinical databases
• Ability to work with many physicians and follow up on them in a timely manner
• Ability to explain information in an unbiased, easily understandable way to patients
• Ability to work well with patients and their family members
• Familiarity with the clinic environment and setup
• Organized, with strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
