Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI) Dr. Jane Thornton. The Research Assistant collaborates with the health care team to assist with several clinical trials. Responsibilities for this position include and are not limited to
clerical work, ethics submissions and maintenance, regulatory management, participating in monitoring visits, patient recruitment, coordinating particpant visits, execution of study procedures as outlined in study protocol, data entry, sample collection, processing and
shipping. The Research Assistant reports to the Research Manager.

Commensurate with experience

37.5 hours per week
Duration of Contract
March 26, 2021 to March 24, 2022
Qualifications

Successful completion of a recognized Baccalaureate Degree in Health Science or related field, Master's Degree preferred
• Previous experience in clinical research preferred
• Familiarity with Lawson & Western REB policies and systems is an asset
• Experience with Telus Health and Powerchart is an asset
• Experience with REDCap and other EDCs preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and time management skills. The ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet competing
deadlines
• Responsible and Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative in an environment with limited supervision
• Strong work ethic
• Ability to follow instructions and complete assignments in a timely manner
• Available to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to attend work on a regular basis
• Proficient in Word and Excel
• Working knowledge or prior experience in Human Research Ethics, Tri-council policy, Good Clinical Practices, Health Canada and
FDA regulations an asset
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
• Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC’s Mission, Vision and Values
• Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
