Job Description

Located at the Parkwood Institute (Lawson Health Research Institute) in London, Ontario, the MacDonald/Franklin Operational Stress Injury Research Centre (MFOSIRC) conducts innovative research in military and veteran mental health. The Centre’s primary mission is to improve the mental health and well-being of veterans with OSIs through clinical and neuroscience research. The Research Centre collaborates directly with the Operational Stress Injury Clinic (OSI Clinic) at Parkwood Institute, which provides specialized services to those experiencing mental health challenges as a result of their operational service. The MacDonald/Franklin OSI Research Centre is a catalyst and enabler for the adoption of increasingly specialized and evidence-based pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy. Priorities for the Centre include research on treatment outcomes, suicide risk behaviour, and neurobiology of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

The incumbent will work under the direction of Dr. J. Don Richardson, the MacDonald Franklin Operational Stress Injury Research Centre (MFOSIRC) Scientific Director, and senior level research team in the role of the “Administrative Assistant.” The incumbent will provide key support for administrative, financial and human resource duties and will act as a central contact for a range of OSI Research Centre administrative functions.

The incumbent will perform administrative functions such as coordinating meetings and minutes, assisting with finances (i.e. HMMS orders, expense reimbursements, etc.), and maintaining supplies and equipment. Additionally, the successful candidate will act as a key resource on internal processes for finance and human resource items. This position is a 5 day per week (37.5 hours per week) contract position.
